From the Pastor's Desk:
We begin this Holy Week with the proclamation of the Lord’s Passion from the Gospel of Matthew. In these sacred days, we fix our minds and hearts on Jesus, who lays down His life for us. Yet alongside His sacrifice, we also glimpse quiet, faithful acts of stewardship from those who encountered Him.
Jesus instructs His disciples to prepare the Passover in the home of an unnamed man. Though we never learn his name, we know his response: he opens his home in hospitality. Through this simple act, his house becomes the place where the Eucharist is instituted.
Simon of Cyrene offers the strength of his body, helping carry the Cross. Joseph of Arimathea gives both a tomb and his care, ensuring the Lord is laid to rest with dignity. The two Marys remain at the tomb, offering the gift of their presence, keeping watch in love and sorrow.
None of these gestures seem extraordinary on their own. Yet God uses each one in a powerful way.
This Holy Week, we are invited to do the same. Through the offering of our time, our talents, and our treasure, even the smallest acts can be transformed. Placed in God’s hands, they become part of His saving work in the world.
As I read in an email this week,
So as we move into this week, consider one simple intention:
Don’t try to add more.
Just be more intentional with what’s already there.
A quieter moment in the morning.
A deeper pause before reacting.
A more honest prayer.
A willingness to sit with discomfort instead of escaping it.
You don’t have to “get Holy Week right.”
You just have to stay close.
And if there are places in your life where you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or in need of deeper healing, this is also a powerful time to take a step toward that.
God doesn’t just meet us in prayer.
He meets us through the people and support He places in our lives.
Peace.

Stations of the Cross, led by the youth of our parishes. During Lent, starting February 27th, we invite the youth of both our parishes (ages 12–17) to lead the Stations of the Cross every Friday at 6:30 PM at St. Francis de Sales Parish. Altar servers will assist with serving, and other youth will take turns reading the Stations. This is a wonderful opportunity for our young people to deepen their faith, serve their parish community, and take an active role in the Church. Our youth are the future of our Church, let’s encourage them to grow as leaders, disciples, and witnesses of Christ. If your child is interested, please contact Carmel Prince: carmel.prince@hotmail.ca (647-897-5299).
